No - it is still writing to the old ones - which you have unlinked.

If you do this you will find your disk space mysteriously decreasing
until squid crashes/restarts. Unix doesn't mind that the file has
been unlinked, while someone has it opened it can still be written to
and still takes up disk space.

} But, if you don't need them , it's O.K. It works well without log files.

Do that in the config file - not by trashing the current log files.
