squid seg faults on bogusly large URLs

Our Squid 1.0.10 dies (Seg faults) whenever it receives a "URL that
is too large."

Looking through the logs, we noticed that some CGI "chat" programs
are sending HUGE URLs (The "chat" string is in the CGI query part of
the URL after the question mark).

Granted, well behaved CGI programs shouldn't send massive URLs, but how
would I go about patching the code to prevent squid from seg fault
dying when a rogue (intentionally or unintentionally) program sends a
huge URL?
