I didn't look very much to the accel+proxy mode, but indeed it is the
solution. I tried it and it works ...
In fact, the pure proxy mode is beter because a DNS is avoided for
the browser but this automatic mode (with the benefit of the cache)
is a very good solution.

If somebody wants a copy of the little program I wrote (httpd_transp),
just asks me by mail. It can be used anyway on small routers, unable
to run a squid.
