auto config file

Hi,
I just discovered squid today, and I already have
a question.
Does squid support Netscape's auto configuration file?

I am using the Apache server as a proxy server at the moment
but I am getting an error when I try the ftp protocol.
I wonder could I use Squid as a replacement?
