Well it's the web server which serves the autoconfig.pac javascript file
associated with Netscape auto configuration, not Squid.

Remember, squid is only a cacheing proxy, not a web server. You would
still need Apache (or whatever) to serve the autoconfig file but yes you
could replace the cacheing side of Apache with Squid.
