Tonight I tried to get 1.1.beta23 working (was using 1.0.18, 1.0.20 seemed
a lot slower) but ran into the following problem:

96/11/28 02:19:49| Starting Squid Cache version 1.1.beta23 for
rs6000-ibm-aix3.2...
96/11/28 02:19:49| With 2000 file descriptors available

96/11/28 02:19:49| dnsOpenServer: $hello read test failed
96/11/28 02:19:49| --> read: (82) Restart the system call
96/11/28 02:19:49| dnsOpenServers: WARNING: Cannot run 'dnsserver'
process.
96/11/28 02:19:49| Fallling back to the blocking version.
96/11/28 02:19:49| dnsOpenServer: $hello read test failed
96/11/28 02:19:49| --> read: (73) Connection reset by peer
96/11/28 02:19:49| dnsOpenServers: WARNING: Cannot run 'dnsserver'
process.

AIX 3.2.5, standard bsdcc-compiler, resolver-lib from BIND-4.9.4P1 (which
this machine also runs).

I have tried to disable the initial DNS-test (-D), to up the debug-level,
changed the number of dnsservers, enable/disable IP-caching, looked at the
source but couldn't figure out where it goes wrong.

So I had to install 1.0.18 again (nice clean cache-dir now :-), I didn't
expect it to perform without the dnsservers.

Anyone?
