problems compiling Squid 1.1 release

Hi,
while I can no problems compiling the 1.1beta23, make all on 1.1 release
stops with the following error:
gcc -o dnsserver -g dnsserver.o -L../lib -lmiscutil -lbsd
dnsserver.o(.text+0x7d): undefined reference to `__res_init'
make[1]: *** [dnsserver] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/squid-1.1.0/src'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Any ideas?
