I tried with a manual GET cache_object://proxy1/stats/objects HTTP/1.0:
it works.
If on the proxy itself, I run:
client cache_object://proxy1/stats/objects
I get:
HTTP/1.0 400 Cache Access Denied
Content-type: text/html

<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Cache Access Denied</TITLE></HEAD>
<BODY><H1>Error</H1>
<H2>Access Denied</H2>

Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request
<PRE> cache_object://proxy2.isdnet.net/stats/objects</PRE>
From this cache. Please check with the
<A HREF="mailto:webmaster">cache administrator</A>
if you believe this is incorrect.
