I think in raw numbers (well, vocal ones anyway), the "octet-stream" team
won the day. Whether or not anything will happen in the long-term (next
major version maybe?) is yet to be seen...

Errm, "eg" rather than "ie" - it's not a done-deal that the default for
unknown files is "text/plain". ;-)
