I have the same problem with 1.1.7. I suspect this is an even older
bug. Very bad ... My clients cannot access underground ftp sites :-)

BTW Anyone with an idea about why VM(emacs) fails to undigestify THIS
list? I think it's something about the delimiters (which changed
several times).

    Enno> Using squid 1.1.8 I noticed a problem concerning ftp. I´m
Enno> not shure if it´s a configuration error or a bug:

Enno> Anonymous FTP (like ftp://host) makes no problem until the
Enno> user first tries to make a non anonymous ftp (like
Enno> ftp://user@host). After that squid keeps his userid and
Enno> converts every url like ftp://host to ftp://user@host. Even
Enno> trying to do "ftp://anonymous@host" fails. Squid still
    Enno> replaces "anonymous" with "user".

Enno> This occurred with various version of Netscape for Windows
Enno> and Unix, Squid is running on a Ultra-Sparc.

Enno> Any ideas to solve this?
