Refresh_pattern

I just changed the default refresh_pattern to:

refresh_pattern . 1440 50% 14400

Is this logical? If I understand correctly, I am assuring one day
minimun and 10 days maximun in cach, obviously dependent on such
things as cach-control.

Does anyone have a better solution or find serious fault with this one?
