Differences between Linux and Solaris 2.5.1

I have squid 1.1.8 running on two seperate machines. The first (ra) is a
Sparc 1000E with 128 Megs of memory and a 100baseT connection. The other
(cachebox) is a K5/100 with 32 Megs of memory and a 10baseT connection. ra is
running Solaris 2.5.1 and cachebox is Linux 2.0.29.

My problem is thus: From the New York Times homepage (www.nytimes.com) the
selection of a section works when using ra as the cache, but does nothing when
using cachebox.

Cachebox is a child of ra and ra is a child of oceana.nlanr.net and
uc.cache.nlanr.net.

Anybody have ideas?
