Grab the w3c demo code from http://www.w3.org/ (I think). It contains
both a library and a demo client application that can be run from the
command line, like that:

        $ http_proxy=http://your.proxy:3128/
        $ export http_proxy
        $ w3c http://should.be/in/the/cache.html

How to build a stress test from that is left as an exercise to the
reader :-)

Of course, you could also use Perl and the LWP module.
