can't do https behind second-level proxy

I have three squid proxies in our WAN, one is the main one which directly
connects to the Internet and the other two are at remote locations inside
our private WAN. Obviously local users connect to the main proxy and
users from the other locations connect to the corresponding proxy.

The problem is that the users at the remote locations can't do https
requests while local users have no problems with that. Seems that the
other proxies try to connect directly to the https site which of course
fail, even when the parent requests works fine for http or ftp.

Any clue?

Juan
