Squid 1.1.16 SIGHUP problems

Hi

        I updgraded from Squid 1.1.4 to Squid 1.1.16 in a SUN Ultra I +
Solaris 2.5.1 box. When running 1.1.4, sending Squid (accell mode) a HUP
signal after ammending its configuration file somewhat would have Squid
performing as expected. With 1.1.16, Squid locks up (it doesn't dump core):
it sits there, with all of its dnsservers and et all, doing exactly nothing.
All connections are refused. The only solution is to kill and restart it. Has
anyone been into this? Any tips? HELP! (I'd hate to go back to a previous
version). TIA. Regards ....
