Hi,
We're running solaris 2.5.1 and squid-1.1.17-NOVM. We get lots of
"Broken Pipe" errors, that say site is down. However, turning off proxies
in Netscape and going direct proves the site is up. I've not worked out a
pattern, but it does seem to happen on sites that are less than fast.
Turning up debugging and looking in cache.log shows that the connect()
call in comm.c is returning immediately with EPIPE. I just can't work out
why squid is doing this? Any ideas?
I've just found the RETRY_CONNECT option in comm.c and squid is now
running with that enabled. It seems to fix the problem, but why are
connects to sites failing?
