Problem with ftp proxying

Hi all,

  I've got a problem with ftpget, at the moment everytime a binary is
grabbed using the proxy it manages to mangle it into a completely
unusable form. I can't see anything in the FAQs (but I do need an eye
test soon ;) has anyone else come across this problem?
