Dear All,

I'll thank a lot if anyone can explain me the following behaviour
and/or point me to good sources of information where to discover it
myself (I have already gone through the FAQ, mail archives and
 O'Reilly DNS book).

# /usr/local/squid/bin/dnsserver
$fail esc.syrres.com
$message DNS Domain 'esc.syrres.com' is invalid: Host not found

# dig @srcvax.syrres.com +aaonly esc.syrres.com

; <<>> DiG 8.1 <<>> @srcvax.syrres.com +aaonly esc.syrres.com
; (1 server found)
;; res options: init aaonly(unimpl) recurs defnam dnsrch
;; got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 10
;; flags: qr aa rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 2, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0
;; esc.syrres.com, type = A, class = IN

esc.syrres.com. 1D IN CNAME esc_server.syrres.com.
esc_server.syrres.com. 1D IN A

# nslookup esc.syrres.com
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: esc_server.syrres.com
Aliases: esc.syrres.com

All commands submitted in the proxy machine.

I wonder if it might have to do with the '_'
It is permanent behaviour, or at least for the whole last month.

Best Regards,

Javier Puche.
