NOVM

hi all,

i'm new to the list but i've checked out all the faqs. it seems NOVM
saves RAM by using more file descriptors , but how do i get NOVM?
./configure shows no such options; faqs mentions no URL.

Also, i'm going to serve a 256k link , with transparent proxy on Cisco
on a Pentium Pro box ( 192M RAM, 2*2G scsi as cache, runing linux 2.0.35
). Should i go with NOVM in the first place? And since 1.2 doesn't cache
anything larger than 1k in memory, what if i do have "adequate" memory?
Gurus, please point out if 192M RAM is adequate for 256k BW.

I'm going to apply the fd batch no matter what. is there any other
caveat i should be aware of?
