Hi there,
is it a musthave to use a dnsserver beyond a firewall, wenn I would like to
use transparent proxying? I have a linux box using tkernel 2.1.112 with
transparent proxying enabled, but I can't contact neither an intra- nor an
internetserver. ps aux says squid [...] (dnsserver). Does this mean, it is
still looking for one?

Another question is: To which port must I redirect. I tried both:

ipchains -A input -p tcp -d default/0 80 -j REDIRECT 80
and
ipchains -A input -p tcp -d default/0 80 -j REDIRECT 3128

... none worked right.

Thanks for help,
henning
