My favorite commandline-browsing depends on half-closed connections, which
*finally* work with squid (it always worked w/ apache servers):

bash$ echo -ne "GET some_url HTTP/1.0\r\nHost: url.host\r\n\r\n" | \
        sock -h proxy proxyport # its the Stevens' sock utility
