You can't accelerate https. It uses SSL which is end-to-end encrypted
with cryptographic authentication.

What you can to is to make the https port transparently available on the
same host as you are running the http accelerator. This can be done by
using a TCP plug daemon, like the one found in TIS firewall toolkit (not
GNU, but available for free) or another similar piece of software.
