Squid died when leased line went down!

Our leased line went down yesterday for 10 minutes. Then I received this
error message.
FATAL: ipcache_init: DNS name lookup tests failed. What i did is, i
restarted Squid when my leased line went up. Is there any way we can run
Squid automatically without having to run the squid program manually?
