A quick lurk throught the history gives:
The store format changed in Squid 2.1.PATCH2.

Squid 2.1.PATCH2 to 2.2.STABLE2 contains code for backward compability
with earlier Squid releases, but it by default was only active until
Mars 27 1999.

A workaround is to extend the compability period to give your cache a
chance to migrate to the new format. This can be done by changing the
constant 922500000 in storeGetPublic to the new limit (time_t format).
Using 930016800 extends it to June 22.
