disk full in spite of maximum_object_size set

Hi all,

When diskspace is exceeded squid crashes badly, therefore I tried to limit
the diskspace used very strictly.

My squid installation ignores the cache settings. As maximum_object_size
4096 (default) also stored files of 80MB I switched to 4KB:

cache_mem 1
cache_swap 1
cache_mem_low 75
cache_mem_high 90
maximum_object_size 4

When I run the cache and download a 6-MB file it is stored in the cache,
and some time later, it will be deleted.

But when the file's size is 100MB and I got only 50MB free space left squid
crashes (version 1.NOVM.21 for i686-pc-linux-gnu).

please help,
axel
