Re: starting stopping squid 2.2S3: SOLVED

A little typo in my squid.conf (pid_filename pointed to a non existing
directory).
Found the problem why there is no squid.pid in /var/log/messages

I think that squid should not be starting when it could not write it's
pid, or at least gives some notification when calling the squid binary.
