No. I built the cache only once, but i upgraded squid from 2.2stable2 to
2.2stable4
i took these statistics when squid was slow.
I have 10 disks of 4Go for the cache
But now i have :

Internal Data Structures:
        1204489 StoreEntries
          2459 StoreEntries with MemObjects
          2323 Hot Object Cache Items
        1032745 Filemap bits set
        1032927 on-disk objects

... i recompiled squid without async IO and today it seems to be better
but i have no idea about what was wrong.
