Weird problem logging into sites

I hope someone else has seen this. I checked the FAQ and didn't find
anything on the problem.

Version: squid-2.2.STABLE4
OS: HP/UX 10.20

When a user tries to access a mail site like yahoo or another site
that requires them to log in, they get returned immediately to the
login page without the login working. If I do a squid -k reconfigure
then everything works fine for a while. This time frame varies but I
don't know if it is load related or what. I have tried tweaking acls,
and other things in the config file with no luck. Squid doesn't
return an error and neither does the browser. I have this same
condition with IE 4.0 thru 5.0 and Netscape 4.0 thru 6.0. Any ideas
or insight would be most appreciated.
