java based chat web sites

Hi. When attempting to access java based chat sites via the squid proxy
server the chat engine returns the following error message: (pasted from
the java console for netscape)

# Applet exception: error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: COM/volano/ae

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: COM/volano/ae

any ideas? Happens on IE and Netscape.
