DNSserver and memory usage

Hi to everybody,
I'm new to this list and to SQUID. I would like to submit to Your
experience two questions.
I've got Squid 2.1 Patch2 running on an HP-UX 10.20 K220 machine in a
cluster configuration with MC/ServiceGuard 10.06.

First question

Since I had got a warning message in the cache.log, I have decided to
increase the number of dnsserver processes in squid.conf. Is it possible
to know how much memory every dnsserver process uses? Do the same
processes have a remarkable impact on CPU cycles?

Second question

I have noticed that Squid does not release DRAM memory even when the
overall load is not so high. Any suggestion?

Thanks for any help
