Thanks very much for your help.

The symptoms we were seeing fit exactly with Laszlo Valko's
description in his message of 14 July, and your amendment to his
patch seems to have fixed the problem.

I'd like to echo his plea that this is incorporated in the mainstream
Squid source for the benefit of Solaris 2.5.1 users - hence this is
copied to squid-bugs@ircache.net
