Corruption troubleshooting

Hi,

I need some help in troubleshooting corruption of our cache.

The problem we are seeing is that when a user requests a page which is
in the cache it generates a cache hit, but it serves wrong objects back,
like for example, they want to look at a newspapers site, and they get
porno-pictures back.

The system runs on FreeBSD:

Harbard# uname -a
FreeBSD Harbard.bart.nl 3.2-19990716-STABLE FreeBSD 3.2-19990716-STABLE
#4: Fri Jul 16 15:46:18 CEST 1999
root@Harbard.bart.nl:/usr/src/sys/compile/PROXY i386

The squid version we're currently using is 2.2-STABLE5.

We have created 4 slices under FreeBSD which contains the cache data:

/dev/da1s1e 8695079 464234 7535239 6% /mnt/cache1
/dev/da2s1e 8695079 502763 7496710 6% /mnt/cache2
/dev/da3s1e 8695079 446752 7552721 6% /mnt/cache3
/dev/da4s1e 8695079 461242 7538231 6% /mnt/cache4

The reason why these are so empty at the moment is because our users
complained about the corruption and my colleague had to rebuild the
cache.

As this is the first time I am troubleshooting squid I appreciate any
pointers you more advanced guys can give me. So for now my details are
a bit sparse.

Thanks in advance,
