DESIRE2 Cache Management Workshop: preliminary announcement

The DESIRE2 project is organizing the second Workshop on Cache Management,
that will be held in Budapest, Hungary, on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2000.

The workshop will be hosted by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Computer
and Automation Research Institute. The workshop will pay special attention
to the local developments in Central and Eastern European Countries. It
will feature both presentations and practical hands on about Cache
Management. A final session will deal on most recent developments and
research issues.

The programme of the workshop is preliminarily structured as follows.

Day 1.
Session 1.
- Workshop opening remarks
- Cost benefit analysis
- Architecture/ Inter cache communication
Session 2.
- Practical hands on about installation of SQUID
Session 3.
- Log analysis and cache statistics
Session 4.
- Evaluation of caching products

Day 2.
Session 5.
- MRTG
Session 6.
- Hands on about building cache meshes
Session 7.
- Transparent caching details
- FTP Mirror tracking
Session 8.
- Development updates including standards, streaming, etc.

Detailed information about the final programme, logistics and registration
will be published by the end of December 1999.
