Squid crashes with long URL

Hi,

We have a small school network where 5 machines share a common Internet
access through a Linux box running squid. At peak hour (i.e. when the 5
machines are running together) we have problem with students trying to use
external Mail services like HOTMAIL. Apparently the coding of these services
generate too long URL's and squid crashes. We have to restart squid to
re-establish the proxy. Also when users are trying to write long E-mail
through these services the browser does not answer after the mail is being
"sent".

Any clue on what's going on ?
