FTP Icons

My apologies for this commonly asked question.. but this seems to be a
variation.

I'm having trouble getting the icons to display on FTP pages rendered by
squid. I've done this before on other boxes without problems, and I'm
baffled why it isn't working this time.

I have added -

acl icons url_regex ^http://hostname.domain:port/squid-internet-static/icons

and

http_access allow icons (this is the first http_access statement)

Yet, they will not display. I get the following in the access.log -

945237516.139 47 1.1.1.1 TCP_DENIED/403 1096 GET
http://hostname.domain:port/squid-internal-static/icons/anthony-dir.gif -
NONE/- -

Also, the icons directory [squid root]/etc/icons is mode 755 and all the
files inside are 644.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

It is version 2.2/STABLE5 running on RedHat 6.1.
