Problems SQUID Over SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 ???

Hi .

I have one machine with SCO Open Server 5.0.5 and Netscape FastTrack Server
, I download squid squid2.2.STABLE5 from
http://www.sco.com/skunkware/osr5/net/squid/

this files are compiled for SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 .

I installed squid with:
custom -i -p SCO:Squid -z `pwd`

then /usr/internet/squid/bin/squid -z

I add , two lines in squid.conf

acl permite src X.X..0.0/255.255.0.0 where X.X is my local network Class
B.
http_access allow permite

and finally squid start .

with ps , I saw
# ps -ef|grep squid
    root 1758 1 0 13:11:19 ? 00:00:00
/usr/internet/squid/bin/squ
id -sY
  nouser 1759 1758 0 13:11:19 ? 00:00:06 (squid) -sY

I use the program client , with ./client -p 8080 http://www.netscape.com , I
see
information about this page .

But , when I use Netscape 4.7 or Explorer 5.0 , after I modify Manual Proxy
Configuration , this browers , I can´t connect Squid Server . but I can to
have telnet and ping from my client windows until Squid server .

Why I don´t see , the windows question my username and password ??
How do I probe , since my client windows to Squid Server ???
