cache digests and proxy authentication

Hello!

We're running three squid proxies in an array, defined like this one:

cache_peer terminus.bue.ar.amtec.net sibling 3128 3130
login=proxy:???????

Everything is working fine (i see ICP queries and transfers among them
without a problem). On every proxy we're running an authentication module:

authenticate_program /usr/lib/squid/smb_auth -W amtec
acl ntusers proxy_auth REQUIRED

Well, now, im trying to use cache digests in order to reduce ICP traffic,
but, it isnt working... I see lines like these on the logfile:

956678062.456 4 200.41.130.25 TCP_DENIED/401 1588 GET
http://cabal.ros.ar.amtec.net:3128/squid-internal-periodic/store_digest -
NONE/- -
956684143.129 8 200.41.134.60 TCP_DENIED/401 1588 GET
http://cabal.ros.ar.amtec.net:3128/squid-internal-periodic/store_digest -
NONE/- -

If i run lynx with that url, i see that authentication is required to
download the file... if i put a valid amtec domain user and password, the
file downloads ok.

By now, i cant figure a way to tell the other squids to authenticate when
trying to download the digest nor avoid it. Can anyone here give me a clue?.
