how do squid and squidguard acl's relate?

for example i have set up squid to use ldap authentication to let certain
people access the internet

now when i add squidguard in the picture does squid pass the ldap group name
or username towards squidguard?

my idea is to have some groups in ldap with users in them do the
authentication with the group_ldap patch for squid and allow acces to
certain category's of sites using squidguard

is this a workable solution?
