Squid Design

hi,

is it healthy to put a proxy server with transparent proxy configured on a
128k link?
I'm getting complains from that location of slowness although the link
utilization is getting lower and lower.., I have exactly the same system
running on an E1 (2.048MBit) and it is running smoothly.

I'm also looking for books that handles squid issues, but I couldn't find
any..

any one can help..
