[SQU] persistent connection sharing

Hi.

If a client is maintaining a persistent connection with an origin server
(via the squid proxy), and another client makes a request for the same
origin server, could the same connection be used?

In other words, might squid share an upstream connection (to an origin web
server) with the requests of more than one client?

I would greatly appreciate any information about this aspect of squid's
behavior, or pointers to files or documents which pertain to it.

Thanks!
-Chris
