[SQU] OpenSSL

I'm trying to write a client/server app that will run through squid
but using an OpenSSL connection. Right now I have the client/server
running but with the client makeing a regular TCP connection. The
first thing the client writes to the server is CONNECT which creates
a consistent connection through squid to the server.
I've tried to use OpenSSL on both sides with no luck. I can use OpenSSL with
no problem when trying to connect to Apache.

Any suggestions
