There is a mod_smb_auth for Apache, but it's broken at the
protocol level, I'd be very surprised if it worked.
Roxen is good in our case because it's based on the same
single-process approach that Squid is, so it can use the
very same external authentication code that Squid uses.
Apache, with its multiple-process approach, is more hostile
towards this kind of development.
So far, I haven't gotten around to implement anything, because
I want to get it right for squid first.
