LVS is a TCP load balancer, but lacks some features commonly found in
most other. The most notable one is server failure detection which must
be added using other software. Together with such other software it is a
pretty good alternative for up to medium size installations. For big
installations it might still be a viable alternative but requires a bit
of tuning..
