To get full use of squid try out the following:

for data traffic: internal squid -- viruswall -- external squid
for icp traffic: internal squid -- external squid

viruswall and external squid on same box with different ports, viruswall using
external squid als parent.

With this configuration the user sees only a different behavior when finding a
virus or when doing large downloads (viruswall trickles data bevor getting the
full package for scanning and then sending the full package with full speed).

You can use more than one cache_peer for high availability issues and offload
cpu usage from large internal caches.

With virus wall als parent or middle proxy you must be aware that https
downloads canīt be scanned!
