see squid.conf: change logfile_rotate value to 5 or less.. And dont use
debug_option value bigger ALL,1.

# TAG: logfile_rotate
# Specifies the number of logfile rotations to make when you
# type 'squid -k rotate'. The default is 10, which will rotate
# with extensions 0 through 9. Setting logfile_rotate to 0 will
# disable the rotation, but the logfiles are still closed and
# re-opened. This will enable you to rename the logfiles
# yourself just before sending the rotate signal.
logfile_rotate 5

After using squid's rotating ability, you also use "logrotate" program ( If
you have Redhat or Suse ).. to rotate, compress or remove the log files...

Ilker,

I am totally agree with you to keep the logs. Because of my last case
(someone spoof our IP), I will try to find the culprit in my access.log.
However, I also have one important thing to be kept in my mind. Control the
logs size !

I even don't know how to "automatically" control that. Last time also got
another problem. Our "GNOME" crashed our Linux because of our HDD size was
so low after Squid run for 30-45 days. I did not control the logs.

Please give me comment and suggestion how to "auto" control the cache size.
Many thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Awie

Hi,

No..Some options in the squid.conf are deault. If you want to disable
access_log, see FAQ:

6.14. How can I disable Squid's log files?

  To disable access.log:

          cache_access_log /dev/null

  To disable store.log:

          cache_store_log none

It is a bad idea to disable the cache.log because this file contains
many important status and debugging messages. However, if you really
want to, you can: To disable access.log:

          cache_log /dev/null

Best regards,
Ilker G.
