Check the file ./include/version.h - it has the version. Generally
speaking each branch of squid has it's own version tag.
And yes, if you have a NTLM or auth_rewrite branch, please get the squid
2.5 branch.
Note: you can get it by CVS by doing
cvs -z9 update -P -d -kk -r HEAD
in your existing source directory. This will only update the files that
are different, will delete any obsolete source files, and download any
newly created source files.
