Hi Jeremy,
        What trouble were you ahving on Redhat 7.0? I don't recall
seeing any bug reports :]
The called with no result string is _usually_ an indicator that the
helper is exiting as soon as it starts. Have you tried running the
helper from the command line with the same parameters, as the
cache_effective_user?
If it exits on it's own, the parameters are faulty.
