Thread went on a bit af a wander there. So just to confirm.

Squid does support ssl client to squid then non sll squid to target site
acceleration?

With the work at http://squid.sourceforge.net/ssl/

Exact match for the SSL support available to Squid.

Accelerators can cache SSL by acting as the SSL endpoint, proxies
cannot.
