Sure, but why spend time on it when close to all OS:es Squid is commonly
used on has firewalling capabilities which does the same job a lot
better?
* Linux has good firewalling capabilities since long time back
(completely rewritten in 2.0, 2.2 and again in 2.4 but that's another
story)
* *BSD bas good firewalling capabilities since long time back
* The IP-Filter package can be used on many other systems to add
firewalling capabilities.
