I have used squid 1 in the past but am trying to use
Squid-2.4.STABLE1 on AIX 4.2

configure aperes to run OK

make compiles OK using IBM C compiler

make install OK

Edited defualt config, to set IP address, port, etc

Created cache directories OK.

Now when I run, it apeard to demonize, launch a few children, and then
die :-(

If run with -X

last few lines to screen are

Then I get a message up

Message from syslogd@netman at Mon Apr 23 13:04:41 2001
 ...
netman squid[36604]: Exiting due to repeated, frequent failures

wether its relevant or not, I checked the DNS server logs and it does
not seem to be looking any names up ?

PS I have tried the configure --disable-internal-dns option and this
does not seem to make any difference.

Any one have any sugestions?
